Shoreditch fashion has always been independent of the rest of London, just as the area has developed into a strong hold for independent designers, retailers and bars and clubs. We meet three designers who’ve been drawn to the area from all over the world to find out what it’s like being part of the action.
CAN YOU, CAN-CAN?
The Can-Can dates back to around 1830, originating as a social dance first performed in the Parisian music halls. The traditional petticoat lifting and showing a bit of leg was always guaranteed to get spectators’ heartbeats racing but believe me it’s nothing to what it does to the performer.
Beautcamp Pilates
First let me say that I represent the unfit and the unhealthy. I don’t ‘do’ exercise, I can not even run for the bus without struggling to breath, so if I can take a Beautcamp Pilates class, anyone can.
