Brace yourself, we’re about to suggest leaving the Shoreditch triangle. On Saturday 27 September hop on the number 26 and let it take you all the way to Hackney Wick.

Hackney Wick FestivalThe Wick has become a colony of creatives over the last 10 years. Many of London’s best loved artists, including the mighty Gavin Turk, have rented studio space here and many more are currently in residence; being skint and splashing paint around for your visual pleasure – bless.

This September they’ll host the Hackney Wick Festival of Art, including an artist-led fete on the Village Green with public works, walks, tours, site specific art installations and projections, boxing, open studios, inflatable ruins, school fairs, local bands, a boulder, gardening, Eton Manor Boys Club re-union, roof top art and of course plenty of refreshments. The theme of the festival is 'local produce' and celebrates the lives and the life in Hackney Wick. It’s definitely worth a punt.
