Shoot Experience have been operating out of their Shoreditch base for 4 years now, and their flagship event “Shoot Shoreditch” is fast approaching.
This
will be the 4th annual Shoot Shoreditch, and director Brett Jefferson
Stott has seen the photographic treasure hunt evolve and grow into a
successful company that produces international events alongside
well-loved London events. When asked to sum up a Shoot event, Brett
explains “Using photography and audience participation, our projects
open participants’ eyes to their surroundings, fusing art, culture,
photography and fun.”
Shoot Shoreditch is held at Cargo every year where around 250 ordinary and extraordinary people are encouraged to take to the streets to shoot photographs of the local area in teams of 2 – 4. Participants are presented with clues, which they are required to solve and photograph the solution (usually a local landmark such as Hoxton Square). Prizes are then awarded for the most creative photos and the day ends with an awards ceremony. An exhibition follows which gives everyone an opportunity to have their work exhibited. This year’s exhibition will be in the new Mathmos store on Kingsland road - previous exhibitions have been at AOP and Dazed Gallery.
Shoot Experience represent photographers and sell royalty free photos as well as producing photography workshops for beginner and intermediate levels, and corporate team building activities.
